Sports Button Mapping
With certain cars with Sports buttons such as the Vauxhall Astra’s/Zafira’s, Alfa Guiletta’s with the DNA setup as well as BMW’s/Range Rover’s with Sports mode on the gearbox, we can use this to achieve a dual map style of driving.
On the Vauxhall’s with the Sports button, we can remap the engine into 2 different types of power configuration, completely customisable to your choice. On our demo van with the 1.9CDTi 150bhp engine, we had 170bhp and 270lb-s torque with the button off, and 224bhp and 326lb-s torque with the sports button turned on.
We can completely customise the Sports button to your requirements at Big Fish Tuning.
The Sports button mapping is included in any custom remap at Big Fish. All you have to do is ask. All our remaps are customised to what you want, all standard functionality of the Sports button is retained, including full traction control removal.
The three settings available are Dynamic, Normal and All weather. Dynamic is the sportiest of the 3 with a very notable sharpness in throttle and more torque through the entire rev range.
In Normal’ mode of the switch drives as standard and when required a complete transformation of power delivery can be delivered by engaging Dynamic mode.
One customer requested on his 335d to have a more economy based map for motorway mileage, and for full power to be released when the sport button is pressed.
We can also offer this on the Mini Cooper S 1.6 Turbo models to have a stock feel and responsiveness (If this is what you wish!) with the button off, and full power with the button on.
We have used this to great effect on our own Astra 1.9CDTi 150bhp, our E39 M5 and our E46 M3.
